What topics will the surveys cover?
The surveys and discussion will cover a wide variety of topics. Such topics might include new energy related technology like smart thermostats, smart appliances, and electric vehicles, new or existing SMUD programs or services, electricity rates or programs to benefit our community.

How do I participate in SMUD Plugged In surveys?
As a SMUD Plugged In member, all you have to do is watch your email (or Facebook notifications) for survey invitations. Based on the profile you provided during registration, we'll invite you to participate in surveys we think you'll be interested in/qualified for. You are never obligated to participate.

Can I use my mobile phone or tablet to participate in surveys or discussions?
Most of the surveys and discussions will be formatted to work on smart phones and tablets; however graphics may be more limited on those devices. We will indicate in the title of the survey or discussion if it is “mobile friendly”.

How frequently do I have to participate?
It is completely up to you! We are planning to have around 2 – 4 surveys or discussions per month, however you aren’t obligated to participate in all of them. There’s no minimum number of times you must participate, but we would love to hear from you at least once a month.

How will my responses to the survey be used?
Your responses, grouped along with responses from other online research community members, will serve as key input into SMUD’s strategic decisions and improvement efforts.

Will my SMUD personal account information be shared with Vision Critical, the company managing SMUD Plugged In?
No. Both SMUD and Vision Critical take customer privacy very seriously. As a result of policies at both companies, Vision Critical does not have access to SMUD customer account numbers, home addresses, payment information and other confidential information – and never will.

Will my name, address or email address be given or sold to anyone outside of SMUD Plugged In?
No. Your responses to surveys or your name, address or email address will not be given or sold to anyone outside of the SMUD Plugged In. Please see our Privacy Policy for more information by clicking here.

How do I change my email address?
You can change your email address by logging into the portal at www.smudpluggedin.com and updating your profile information by clicking on "Update Your Profile " in the upper right corner of the Member page.

How do I recommend SMUD Plugged In to someone?
Send them link to the portal, www.smudpluggedin.com and ask them to click on the “Not a Member?” button on the portal page. Please note they must be a SMUD Customer.

How do I know if I won a drawing?
Vision Critical will conduct the monthly drawings and members will be notified by email. Winners will also be asked if they would be willing to have their photo or a short quote shared on the SMUD Plugged In member portal.
